NATURE GUIDE

There is an abundance of wildlife along the trail including: White Tail Deer, Eastern Wild Turkey, Gray Squirrel, Fox Squirrel, Wood Ducks, Canada Geese, Turtle, Beaver, River Otter, Eagle, etc…
Granite rock outcrops are a distinctive feature of the trail.  Native trees and plants such as: White Oak, Red Oak, River Birch, Pin Oaks, Yellow Pine, Red Cedar, Sweet Gum, Long Leaf Pine.  

River Otter

The river otter (Lutra canadensis) is an amphibious member of the Mustelidae or weasel family. Today, the river otter thrives throughout the state, including areas in north Georgia where its populations were once diminished.
